The Emperor of Han favored beauty and longed for a woman who could captivate the nation, ruling for many years without finding one. The Yang family had a daughter who had just grown up, raised in deep seclusion unknown to others. Her natural beauty was hard to discard, and one day she was selected to be by the emperor's side. A glance back with a smile brought forth a hundred charms, making the powders and daisies of the six palaces lose their color.

In the spring chill, he granted her a bath in the Huaqing Pool, where the hot spring water smoothly washed her congealed fat-like skin. Servants helped up her娇无力 body, marking the beginning of her receiving the emperor's favor. With cloud-like hair, flower-like face, and golden step-shake, in the warm lotus tent she spent the spring night. The spring night was bitterly short, the sun rose high, and from then on the emperor did not attend morning court.

She attended banquets without leisure, accompanying spring outings by day and monopolizing nights. Among three thousand beauties in the harem, all three thousand favors were on her alone. The golden house was dressed up for her night service, after the jade tower banquet she was drunk with spring. Sisters and brothers were all enfeoffed with lands, pitifully their family gate gained glory. Thus, parents of the world no longer valued sons over daughters.

High in the Lishan Palace entering the blue clouds, immortal music and wind heard everywhere. Slow songs and dances condensed silk and bamboo, the emperor watched all day without enough. The Fishbelly drumbeats shook the earth, startling the broken Niaoshang Feather Garment Dance. Smoke and dust rose in the ninefold city towers, a thousand chariots and ten thousand riders went southwest.

The emperor's green canopy swayed, advancing and stopping, west out of the capital over a hundred li. The six armies did not move helplessly, twisting before the moth-browed horse to death. Flower hairpins scattered on the ground with no one to pick them up, jade phoenixes, golden sparrows, jade combs. The emperor covered his face unable to save, looking back with blood tears flowing together.

Yellow dust scattered in the bleak wind, cloud ladders winding up Sword Pavilion. Few people under Emei Mountain, banners without light and dim sunlight. Shu River water green, Shu mountains blue, the holy lord morning and evening affections. In the traveling palace seeing the moon with heartbroken color, night rain hearing bells with gut-wrenching sound.

Heaven spun earth turned back dragon carriage, here hesitating unable to leave. Under Mawei Slope in the mud, no jade face seen empty death place. Monarch and ministers looked at each other all clothes wet with tears, east gazing capital gate letting horse return.

Returning, pools and gardens all as before, Taiye lotuses, Weiyang willows. Lotus like face, willow like brows, how not to shed tears at this? On days spring wind peach and plum flowers open, autumn rain phoenix tree leaves fall. Western palace southern inner many autumn grasses, fallen leaves full steps red not swept.

Pear Garden disciples white hair new, pepper room eunuchs green girls old. Evening hall fireflies fly thoughts quiet, solitary lamp picked to end not asleep. Late clock drums initial long night, bright star river about to dawn. Mandarin duck tiles cold frost heavy, emerald quilt cold who to share? Endless life and death parted for years, soul never came into dream.

Lingqiong Taoist from Hongdu guest, could with sincerity summon soul. Feeling the emperor's tossing thoughts, thus taught sorcerers diligently seek. Cleaving air riding wind like lightning, ascending heaven entering earth sought everywhere. Up to blue sky down to yellow springs, both places vast all not seen.

Suddenly heard sea has immortal mountain, mountain in illusory ethereal between. Delicate towers five clouds rise, among graceful many仙子. Among one person named Taizhen, snow skin flower appearance exactly it.

Knocking jade door of golden palace west wing, turning teach Little Jade report Double Cheng. Hearing Han emperor's envoy, in nine华帐 dream soul startled. Grasping clothes pushing pillow rising pacing, pearl curtains silver screens winding open. Cloud hair half askew new sleep, flower crown disorder descending hall. Wind blowing immortal sleeves floating raised, still like Niaoshang Feather Garment Dance. Jade face lonely tears overflowing, pear flower one branch spring with rain.

With feeling fixed gaze thanking emperor, one parting sound and appearance both vast. Zhaoyang Hall inside favors cut off, Penglai Palace中 days and months long. Turning head down gazing human world place, not seeing Chang'an seeing dust mist. Only with old things express deep feeling, inlaid gold hairpin send away. Hairpin leave one strand unite one fan, hairpin split gold unite divide inlay. But make heart like gold inlay firm, heaven and earth will meet.

Before parting earnestly again send words, words中 have oath two hearts know. Seventh month seventh day Long Live Hall, midnight no one private words time. In heaven wish be比翼鸟, on earth wish be连理枝. Heaven long earth long sometimes end, this regret endless without end.
